From the splendor of the huge emporium of Pismo’s glass gallery in Denver’s hip Cherry Hills district, to humble art fairs in far more remote places, to my own workshop gallery, Birdhaven, in Woody Creek, and for the last six years with THE KMJ, here in Aspen, Colorado, my work has sold to an extraordinary diverse little community of people.
For what each Collection Series owner shares, no matter the surroundings or occasion on which they discover their new treasure, is a genuine love for the carving they have just purchased. And just like that, another carving leaves to set out on their new life.
Because, it does feel a bit that way. After all, The Collection Series is a finite club of sixty-seven marble carvings, with each possesing a web page of their own, and bearing not only an engraved serial numben on their exterior, but also, chiseled somewhere, but usually right along side it, my mark… my mason’s mark.
So, these carvings are extremely dear to me. Which is why I am so happy to see them all enjoy such a strong bond with their new owners. Now, I can at last reveal the work the people often ask about, but am unable to physically show them in person as they are no longer in my possession. At least they will be able to see them virtually, in the form of this post – to be updated each time a piece is sold to its new owner… maybe even you, one day, perhaps.
With just one month before we embark on our summer tour of The Great American Mid West, with our Travelling Gallery and Masonry History Tour, I thought I would take a trip down memory lane today, and revisit the Collection Series carvings that have sold, or were traded or gifted, as were two members of the Collection Club.
I really hope they are enjoying a great life, wherever they are today, and those around them love them as much as their original owners did when I parted company with one creation after another.

And so, that just about wraps it up for this post. I’ll be back with much more in the coming weeks regarding our impending departure from Colorado for pastures new on May 1st of this year. But, I just wanted to set the record straight regarding the Collection Series pieces that have, in fact, sold, as I often get asked about such matters, but without the evidence to show the work is no longer in my possession I am not really in a possition to inform them. Now, I will be able to simply have them pull this article up on their phone or laptop, and hey presto, they they are, all lined up for inspection.
I hope you enjoyed what you saw, and will stay tuned to see just what will sell next, for I never know which one will be selected to be driven off and, probably, never seen again.
However, with the recent addition of the Collectors Club, owners are now able to trade in their old sculpture for something new and, of course, more expensive. They will receive the full amount that our records show that they paid for the piece, making the purchase of much more expensive carvings all that easier to acquire. Please click on this link to learn more; The KMJ Collection Series Collectors Club is now open to all Collection Series owners.
