Carved from the The Maiden Collection slab‘s pure white vein running the length of the block and accounting for around a third of its volume, Sugar Bowl is therefore ‘related’  to Magellan, Titanic, Slippershot, Sparrow,  and the other bright white sculptures, as in they lay side-by-side for millions of years prior to the moment I split the immense slab into bite-sized block just ready made for carving.

Building upon the Sugar Bowl theme I tapered her base to a square – as though a paper wrapped sugar cube was to unfold and magically disolve, right before your eyes. Of course you can keep sugar in your sugar bowl, but don’t stop there! How about your favorite candies, bon bons, fruit, nuts, or little goodies that you just like to keep close at hand.
