Inspired by the magnificent grounds, gardens and swimming pool of its namesake guesthouse tucked away in the north western corner of Tuscany, ‘San Rocchino Pool’ brought with it a sweeping low-cut, dynamic edge to the newly emerging ‘Autumn of 14’ series, and imposed a lasting and influential mark upon the collection.

If you love Italy, as I do, or more specifically Tuscany, then do yourself a favor and arrange your stay at San Rocchino. Just gaze at those pictures above; you too could find yourself floating around that gorgeous pool (as did I during my June in San Rocchino).  And when you do I’m sure you will also find yourself filled with inspiration similar to those that captivated me, as I drifted slowly floating around that pool, buoyed upon a constant and steady clockwise current.

And so I am happy to reveal this sleek rendition of a hand carved marble bowl as my ode to THE original, magnificent San Rocchino. For if you look closely, inserted into the curvy curves of the pool’s fabulous terrace, I carved my rectangular pool in tribute to what is without doubt my favorite oh-so-lovely, thoroughly refreshing, and positively thrilling swimming pool with a view. And just what a view ! Picture. Perfect. But what sets this bowl quite apart from its counterparts is the astonishing silky-smooth excellence of its surface. Don’t ask me how or why it came out quite as it did, because all my bowls and sculptures are finished to the very highest standard, as the touch and feel of my COLLECTION SERIES is an important and defining characteristic of my signature Marble Sculpture portfolio. However, few if any carvings illicit the ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ that accompany a soft carress as people glide their hand across the silky-smooth surface – their fingertips and palms just can’t seem to get enough of the deeply satisfying sensation. It is, I must say, a quite intoxicating experience, indeed.
