Tour 4:Casoli, Tuscan Village of Art
Let’s face it – famous European cities, even modest ones such as Pisa, can prove a little daunting to those fresh off the boat, as it were. Believe me, by the time we return to the city, as we conclude the North West Tuscan Independent Tourist Way, we’ll climb the famous tower with gusto, explore the amazing baptistery in virtual solitude, and scour the cathedral and opera too. You’ll be much far better equipped to deal with the peculiar rigors of a bustling Italian city by then, of that you can be sure. And so, taking our leave of Pisa’s hustle and bustle, we now head up-and-up, through and round the tight packed hairpin bends… and into the cool mountain air of Casoli, Tuscan Village of Art. In stark contrast to the whirly burly of Pisa this lovely little artful village provides not only a miraculously refreshing rest-bite, but illustrates quite nicely the gorgeous artistic nature of the region you are about to explore. Take your time… scroll down at your leisure. You may be happy to know that today’s post does in fact conclude with an ice cold beer, or two... After this we’re off down the valley to visit the remarkable market town of Camaiore, before heading over to Pietrasanta – a most important stop along the North West Tuscan Tourist Way.
