Hello everyone. A Happy 2016 to one and all!
~~~
~~~
Here we are again. A whole new year, yet one more chance to enact whatever change we wish to inject into our lives.
~~~
~~~
Let’s face it – in the global sense of the word 2015 was a bit of a stinker. And truth be told, I’m a little glad to see the back of it.
~~~
~~~
The year for Kris, Joseph and I however proved to be largely enjoyable and quite satisfying. Three months in, and the micro diet is working wonders ↓
~~~
~~~
Here Kris adroitly navigates the new snowshoe trail.
~~~
~~~
Leading directly from the front porch the path winds through the Colorado Rocky Mountain Sculpture Garden, and on into the wilds beyond.
~~~
~~~
It’s just been so very wonderfully, reassuringly, cold of late. So cold in fact that the snow we received prior to Christmas, now a billowy sort of course sugar, still lays where it fell a full week later.
~~~
~~~
Which brings me to precisely what I love about living in the Rocky Mountains… a snowshoe path, leading right from the cabin door.
~~~
~~~
These photos were all taken on Boxing Day, December 26th.
~~~
~~~
Once we were through with our snowshoe ramblings it was up and onto the Rio Grande Nordic Trail.
~~~
~~~
The Rio Grande Nordic Trail runs along the old railroad track-bed and stretches the length of the Roaring Fork Valley, from Aspen to Glenwood Springs.
~~~
~~~
I now find it quite difficult to believe that it was only last New Year that I found myself quite unexpectedly bitten by the Nordic bug.
Kris however has been swishing her way up and down this trail for several winters now.
~~~
~~~
My, what a difference a year can make.

There you go – seize the day, and all that.
This is it, another New Year, time to get dreams into gear.

“The Year 2016”
I like the sound of it already. Let’s see what we can make of it.
